Really, there aren't that many rules...and honestly, I'm actually kinda new to the entire RP-based forum thing myself. Therefore, this place may be different than most. If you don't like it, find another board.

Section 1 - General Conduct
---
Section Two - Roleplaying

Section Three - Canon Characters

Section Four - General Posting

Simple enough? Good. Please keep in mind, however, that these rules are subject to revision at any time. There will be no dramatic changes, however, some minor revisions may be made.

Section 1 - General Conduct
- Try to keep things on a loose PG-13 rating maximum. Language is allowed, as is text-based violence and mild sexual situations. However, extremely graphic/disturbing images and highly sexual situations will be removed. 'Cybering' or posting of pornographic images will get your account deleted without warning.
- There is no tolerance for bigotry. Any racist, sexist, homophobic, or other similar comments will result in a warning.
- There are to be no personal attacks or flames on any other user. In-character attacks naturally don't count, as this is a roleplaying forum. However, if in-character attacks begin to border on harassment, a warning may be issued.
If you feel you are being harassed in-character, you can always send a PM to me, Winrii, Sheska, Trisha, or Al, and we will be happy to help you work things out. Alternatively, you can post an OOC message in your response to an attack asking a person to stop if you feel harassed.

Section Two - Roleplaying
- Before you begin, a profile page for your character is required. Many sites offer free web pages. I would recommend Geocities. It offers tools for beginners, and while it's not the best out there, it's one of the simplest, and has plenty of features to get you started.
- Keep your RPs in the right place. This will usually be your character's home country, unless it has other defining characteristics that would make it best for another country. Lucky for you, this world has few immigration laws.
- DO. NOT. POWERPLAY. God-modding/powerplaying/whatever you want to call controlling another person's character is not allowed unless you have permission from the character's creator. You ARE allowed to control your LISTED alts from an account other than theirs, however.
- You may have one main character per account, though you can control other less important characters from the same account (see Ellie, with some members of her section). You are allowed an unlimited number of accounts. However, it is strongly appreciated if you LIST YOUR ALTS. A directory will be made for this purpose.
- RPs that alter the structure of the world of Gonarill, such as forming a new army, starting a war, or starting another similar world event is not allowed without permission. If we gave everyone all the control over the entire world, things would go apeshit, just like Earth. We're all here to PREVENT that.
- Generally, the posting format here is prose, first or third person, past tense. Present tense is acceptable when starting a new topic (examples can be found in the archives).
- If you feel another character's actions are getting too pointless, too personal, or otherwise inappropriate, you have the right to ignore them. Simply go on as though they never happened.
---
Section Three - Canon Characters
- No more than THREE canon characters may be claimed by one person. Even if you don't list them, we CAN tell, and any canon characters claimed after the third will be deleted and the name put up for grabs again. You are allowed to drop a canon character, and are allowed to choose another if you wish, however, you must notify an admin.
- If you have claimed a canon character and decide to leave, make sure it is known. As a precaution, any canon character acccounts that have been inactive for over three months with no advance warning given will be deleted.
- Canon characters MUST be kept in-character, at least to a certain extent. If the character is changed more dramatically than the move to the new world would cause, the character will be put up for grabs again.
- Canon characters who died in-show/book/movie/what-have-you ARE allowed to be here. They ARE given a second chance at life; they CAN be claimed.
- Characters are allowed to be the person a character was "based on." However, each canon character may have no more than ONE character who was their "inspiration." A listing will be made for this purpose.
- Check the claimed canon character directory before attempting to claim a canon character. Obviously, no more than one person can be this character -- make sure no one has beaten you to him/her!
- You are NOT, I repeat, NOT, :insert canon character's name here:'s boyfriend/girlfriend, unless you are playing a canon character who was stated to have that role. Implied relationships are allowed to be played with all you want; however, extremely impossible and out-of-character relationships will result in account termination.

Section Four - General Posting
- Please TRY to use proper grammar. You don't have to be perfect, but PLEASE refrain from using chatspeak, abusing the caps lock key, or using other such annoying forum habits. Use of the spell checker is advised, though not required.
- Use the PM system or the designated out-of-character forum for OOC conversations. Notes in the beginning or end of an RP post are allowed, but full OOC posts are simply obstructive.
- There is no tolerance for spam. Spam is defined as any message that:
1.) does not contribute to the RP/discussion in any way,
2.) is wildly off-topic, and/or
3.) is broken up into several smaller messages to raise your post count.
Such messages will be deleted immediately, and you will be warned. - Images in posts are to be no larger than 500 pixels wide by 750 pixels tall. Not one pixel larger. Larger images must be linked to, not posted. Repeated posting of images larger than this limit will result in a warning.
