"So when can she go home?" I asked the doctor.

"Any time....as stated, the only true danger to her was the shock," the doctor said.
"Although...we might just want to wait until she can get those prosthetic limbs repaired..."

"It's automail," I said. "And don't worry....I can repair them RIGHT HERE AND NOW!" A briefcase suddenly appeared in my hands. Laying it flat against a table, I opened the briefcase, revealing tools and automail parts.

"You know, one of these days, some crazy person's gonna steal your automail toolbox if you lug it around everywhere 24/7," I said, raising an eyebrow.

"I DO NOT LUG IT EVERYWHERE 24/7!" I shouted hotly. I then looked at the shocked looks on the doctors' and nurses' faces and scowled. "What, haven't you ever seen a teen work on automail before?" She grabbed a wrench, some nuts, and two automail pieces, then began working on building the automail, using a measuring tape to measure the length of Raven's existing arm so that she could make the right size for her other arm. Since her automail was pretty much destroyed, including the base, I had to start over from scratch.

"Yes...she is always this scary," I laughed, noting the surprised looks on the doctor's faces.
"By the way....you have strong painkillers here, right?" I added, my laughter quickly taking a nervous tone.

"Uh, yes," one of the doctors said.

"Okay...good. I can tolerate this whole thing without it...but....I kinda prefer not to," I said, still laughing nervously. The doctor eyed me strangely.
"Hey, have YOU ever had something connected directly to all the nerves in your arm and leg at once?" There was a pause.
"Didn't think so."

I brushed beads of sweat off my forehead as I continued working on the automail there. I had never finished an automail in one day before--usually, it would take me 3 days to a week to complete an automail. Luckily, most of the parts were already assembled together in the briefcase. Using a bit of my powers, but not enough for the doctors to see, I fused some wires together. At the part where the elbow was supposed to be, I inserted a pulley, which would act as a joint.

I did nothing but watch as Alyson worked...I needed something to keep my mind off my stomach. As she seemed to get close to being finished, however, the knots in my stomach tightened...I hoped that for once, it wouldn't hurt quite AS BAD. Sure, I could handle it...but that doesn't exactly mean I LIKE it.
'She's getting faster....damn, that scares me,' I thought, giggling softly.

As I got closer and closer to finishing the automail, I viewed through the automail one more time, to make sure I did not make any fatal mistakes, such as forgetting to screw in a bolt. I then attached one of the metal plates to the almost-finished automail--all I had to do was furnish the plates and attach them. After that, it was time to put the automail on Raven. I looked at a nurse, instructing,
"Get a large dose of morphine and any other strong painkillers you have now. I'm almost ready with the automail."
A nurse hesitated, then ran out of the room to fetch what I had told her.

I let out a slight nervous squeak as the nurse returned with a large syringe. However, I knew...the needle was better than the alternative. Still....I hate needles. I will always hate needles....just one of those things in life that can't be changed.
I flinched slightly as the needle went into the base of my arm, causing the nurse to give me a puzzled expression.
"Yes. I lost an arm and a leg, and had THIS attached, yet I despise needles. Life is strange," I groaned.
"Sorry..." the nurse replied. I sighed heavily as another needle went into the base of my leg, causing me to tense up even farther. I knew what was coming....now all I could do was hope those damn needles helped as much as they should have.

At long last, I was finished with the automail. I looked over the automail, proud of my metalwork. Then I looked at Raven.
"Okay....here goes..." I said as I attached the arm onto her base. I screwed in a few bolts, then when I was ready to connect the nerves to the automail, I counted out loud, to get Raven to prepare for the pain. "1, 2, 3!"

I backed away a few feet, preparing for Raven's screams of pain.

I let out a whimper at the sudden connection. I'm not about to pretend it was COMPLETELY painless, because it wasn't. Not by a longshot. Still...it felt nothing like it did without the help.
"Well...that wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be," I said, staring down at my new leg in shock.
"Now, I'll just get some crutches and I'll be out of --" I started, but suddenly, my stomach tied in yet another knot. I began to feel some of whatever the hell I had eaten starting to come up on me, and I panicked.
"BATHROOM!" I exclaimed, "running" for the bathroom with my left leg on the floor and my hands pushing against the walls.

I sweatdropped as Raven bolted out of bed, screaming "BATHROOM!" right out in mid-sentence. I kinda found it...funny. Turning to the doctor, I asked, "She's okay to go home now, right?"
"Yes, she is," the doctor said.

"Well...that's good. I want out of here....no offense, but I...hate hospitals...." I said, laughing nervously as I stepped out of the bathroom.
"I also hate when that happens....you THINK you're going to throw up, you RUSH to the bathroom....soon as you close the door, you're fine. So annoying..."
